People react different ways to chronic stress. Some people will become overly emotional. They are always rushing to be somewhere, and don’t enjoy spending time doing anything because they are so stressed about the next thing they need to do. Any problem may cause them to overreact emotionally with anger or tears.
Others react the opposite way and withdraw emotionally; they are too tired to react. Others do both at once. Inwardly the person in seething but outwardly they are frozen.
While everyone reacts differently, there are some common physical and mental symptoms. If you look at these and find that you exhibit many of them yourself, it may be time to seek help.

They may have trouble remembering where they are supposed to be or what they are doing. They won’t be able to concentrate on the task at hand.
Because of their bad temper, they may not ask for help and spend a lot of time worrying about a situation they cannot change. This only increases the amount of stress they are dealing with and exacerbates the symptoms.
In order to deal with the problems they may begin using drugs or alcohol. They may sleep all the time or not at all, and use the drugs to try to fix their sleeping habits. Instead of going out with friends they will isolate themselves and avoid people, making them more depressed.
